Summer 2019

It’s been quiet. Or, it’s been quiet on my various platforms for the shop, regular life has been anything but (as it usually is). I’ve been trying to decide if I wanted to hop off Etsy for a long time now, largely due to disliking the layout but as time has gone on the changes they’ve made don’t make sense for me. Getting my ducks in a row to be able to sustain the shop on its own site has been a long time coming, and I’m certain things are going to take a little while to go smoothly, but we’re about to launch!

This means a lot of —brace yourself for one of the worse phrases—self-discovery as a brand. I haven’t stopped sourcing, the studio is brimming with stuff, but it also means my eye has changed a little. I’m starting to figure out that while I’ll never fall out of love with the old stuff I’m also starting to appreciate the sturdier pieces more. I’ve really embraced the 80s and 90s (hello, tevas) and some of the things I would have left behind over the last few years (I’m looking at you, Laura Ashley Batsheva vibes) I’ve started reaching for.

I shot some new shop images on a whim in early spring, on one of the first hot days, while waiting for a friend to pick up a cake (since leaving the bakery I’ve started experimenting at home) and remembered that sometimes things turn out just about exactly as I like.

Also the shorts are too big, but I’ve ended up keeping this jacket (sorry, kind of).

The shop site will launch quietly this week, without much ceremony, but hopefully this little one-woman operation will chug along nicely from now on.
